Automotive/2005 VW Passat

Question
I have a 2005 VW Passat.  As I was driving the other day the ABS and ASR lights came on, the cruise quit working and the brake lights also no longer work.  I tried the car a few days later and there were no problems (no warning lights on, brake lights fine, cruise control fine) but then later that day all of the problems returned.  Do you have any ideas?

Answer
Possibly a fault in the module for the ASR.Both the ABS and ASR are supposed to work together as well as the throttle body as these control the anti slip and anti lock brakes. This is a dealer problem and the average tech will have no chance without the expensive scanner/diagnostic hardware.
