Automotive/Floor Heater

Question
I have a 2002 GMC Envoy and my air-conditioning worked perfectly all summer. Now that it is getting cold outside, I switched the mode to the floor and upped the temperature
but I only get heated air coming out of the dash vents and/or the defrost but none on the floor.  What kind of an
expensive repair might I be looking at?  Please & thanks.

Answer
Could be a stepper motor ,the climate control unit,or the vents may be stuck with dust.Either way its a expensive fix as most of the dash has to be removed so i would live with it.It depends who is fixing it,dealer is going to charge you a fortune and if you get a person who doesnt know what hes doing then it may not be much  cheaper. So,personally if it blows heat, leave it alone.Have a look yourself under the floor where the heat comes out and turn the vents from upper to lower a few times and see what happens.Rough guess as to $ would be from $400.......or there abouts.
