Automotive - Nissan Truck Suspension

Question
I have a 97 Nissan ext cab truck. I am the second owner and it now has about 110,000 miles on it. When I first bought it I replaced all four shocks. I was amazed at how small the front ones were. Since then, I have had to replace the front again and now the front of the truck feels like I need to replace the shocks for the third time in about 50,000 miles.
So I have two questions; 1. Is it normal to have to replace the front shocks on this truck every 25,000 miles? 2. Are there any upgrades available that will give me better performance?
I buy all of my parts from Napa and I get the very best available. I use the truck for work, however it rarely leaves the pavement or overloaded. So what gives?

Answer
There are heavy duty aftermarket shocks and many applications so shop around and find whats best for you. There are some reasons for wearing out shocks.Look at your motor mounts as well to see if theyre worn.Check all suspension components also to make sure they are not putting excess loads on the front end,and make sure you have the proper tire pressures.
