Automotive/battery life

Question
i don`t understand why my car battery died after 26 months, service manager does not have any good answer, rather telling me ,probable battery cell is not working.

Answer
A number of things can shorten Battery life, including a sudden shock, from a bad chuck hole on the road, or the Battery running low on water in one of the Cells. Even today, not all automotive Batteries are sealed, and over time, the process of discharging, and charging, will cause the Battery to lose water through evaporation. If the level isn't checked, and the Cells topped off to the bottom of the opening you see in through, then the Plates inside are exposed, and the Cell goes dead. Since a Battery works on the principle of a series connection, all it takes is one dead Cell, and then the Battery is no good.
I would also have the Alternator checked, to make sure it is producing the correct Voltage, and Amperage at the speeds the manufacturer specifies. An Alternator that's pushing the correct Voltage, but little or no Amperage, will kill any Battery in short order.
