Automotive/Ford E-450 Airbag Indicator Light

Question
I have a motorhome on a 2003 Ford E-450 cutaway van chassis.  It was equipped with an Omega GPS 2000 vehicle tracking and monitoring system.  This is an aftermarket, dealer installed device that requires slight alteration to the OEM wiring.

The GPS 2000 malfunctioned causing wiring damage to the power door locks as well as the crossover harness behind the dash.

I removed the dash and repaired the damaged wiring, careful to ensure all wiring was properly connected. I removed all components of the GPS 2000 and repaired or replaced the connection points, restoring the wiring to OEM condition.  All systems (cruise control, horn, AC/Heat, interior lights, radio and all instruments) work properly. Now the SRS light on the dash remains lit.

Answer
If the srs system has been disarmed by a short or finds a fault, the system must be reset by a dealer or shop with the proper diagnostic equipment. You cannot reset the light yourself.Your airbags may not deploy in the event of a crash until the system is checked and reset.
