Question
How many miles of how often should I get my Transmission fluid changed? And how much should I expect to pay?

Answer
While many car manufacturers recommend upwards of 100,000 mile change intervals, my personal change interval is once a year if the vehicle is in regular use. The average cost I've been quoted, where they actually drop the Transmission Pan, and change the Filter, is between $80.00-$100.00. Some places may try to convince you that they can flush the Fluid through the Transmission Cooler Lines, however, this will not allow you to know what wear material is present in the Pan, which in turn gives you a fairly good picture of the health of your Car's Transmission.
