Automotive/toyota avensis heater blower problem

Question
hello Sean

I am having a problem with my 98 avensis. when i switch the ignition off, the interior heater blower/A/C remains on. if i move the wiper switch to second speed, the blower turns off. if i turn the heater blower switch to notch 2, it will turn off.
Any ideas why this would be happening or what needs replacement?

thanks.

Answer
Sounds like the switch for the blower is faulty.Thats the first thing but with the wiper switch involved thats a different thing.I would advise you ask the dealer as the wiring in this car is known for these kind of problems and may be under recall.Other than that the wiring is a nightmare for this car and would take a highly qualified tech with huge electrical expertise to find and fix it.Thats the dealer again.Im thinking its in the switch but better to get a second opinion.
