Automotive/Mercury Grand Marquis - replace spark plugs

Question
Hello,
The service manual of my 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis recommends changing the spark plugs at 100,000 miles. Please advise how this is different from a tune up. Also, some posts have mentioned other components - coils, distributor, rotor, filters, etc. Can you please explain if they need to be replaced along with the spark plugs? What is a fair labor time for these repairs? Finally, do you recommend sticking with Motorcraft or are replacement parts such as Autolite ok too?
Thanks,
AJ

Answer
Autolite and motorcraft are the same thing, both made by Ford.A basic tune up is ,rotor,cap,wires,oil/air/fuel filters, plugs, change oil and top up fluids if needed. You will not need to change the coil or distributor (if fitted).Time depends on the shop,i would be estimating 2 hrs,3 at the most.
