Question how do i find the vin, its not in the dash, and its not in the door. is there another place on my 63 impala hardtop?
Answer Other than the leading edge of the Driver's Side Door Post, or the Pillar where the Door Striker is mounted, I can't think of where else GM would have put the VIN Tag. The only Tags I've usually seen on the Firewall, are the vehicle Data Tags, which have the Paint Code, Trim Codes, and other general build information. Most U.S. car companies didn't start putting VIN Tags by the Widnshield, until at least the mid to late 1960's.
