my son has a 94 bmw 525i and he has been having issues with it not starting when it got cold. He bought a new high cranking amps battery and still having troubles like not getting enough fuel for it to start. It is spittin and sputtering and if he excelerates it dies. He had put a gas treatment in it (or fuel injector cleaner) and it is worse. What should be check next?
I would start with a basic tune up.Plugs,cap ,rotor,wires.Fuel filter,air filter.If it still sputters and dies,i would check fuel pressure and fuel regulator.If there is no check engine light,it can be also a vacuum problem.evap,or emissions.This will have to be looked at by a shop.
