Automotive - 97 ford contour heating up

Expert: Ron Cris - 2/28/2008

Question
i got a v4 97 contour and its got around 120k miles on it. after driving at for about a 100 miles or so the thing starts to heat up. i'm not sure what the deal is. any ideas? think this could be a coolant problem or something? sorry im a complete newbie.

Answer
Double check to see if the coolant is full..
Wait untill its coled of to not get burned...

Then let it warm up and make sure the electric fan is clicking on at abou 3/4 needle on you temp gauge..

if those both seem ok..
you may have a clogged up radiator..
Good luck..
