Question
Some times my tach works win i start driving for about 5 min. Then it quits. Most of the time it won't work at all. What is its problem ?

Answer
While not completely familiar with your vintage Truck, I'd hazard a guess that there is a loose wire, either at the end where it connects to its 'signal source', or at the back of the Tachometer itself. Without a 'Wiring Diagram', and the vehicle itself in front of me, this is the best I can tell you.
