Question
just wondering on the 1988 honda prelude 2.0L is the bolt on the crankshaft pulley left hand or right hand thread and i have tryed out that rope technique and it dont work to well. thank u

Answer
Its a standard thread and turns the normal way to remove it.Anti clockwise. The rope down the number 1 spark plug hole should work. Why didnt the bolt release? These bolts are extremely tight and you need to set it up just right or the engine will turn before the bolt lets go.Use nylon cord about 1/2 inch thick and make sure you get at least 18 inches of it in the cylinder. You did line up the TDC and with the valves closed etc?turn the crank 1/2 turn (clockwise)until the piston is almost at the bottom then install your cord and reverse the crank until it is at TDC.
