Question
QUESTION: I have a 92' Grand Marquis, I recently replaced all the breaks on the car and both back rotors (which are disc). well as soon as i went to test drive the car every time i turn right i hear a rubbing noise coming from the rear. I was told a bad bearing but i think it has to do with the parking break. should it be adjusted or does it self adjust? When i looked at the parking break i could see a ware spot on it where it looked like the rotor was rubbing on it. (i kinda hit it with a hammer when I was beating a C clamp off my caliper. please help.

ANSWER: the rear piston calipers are threaded.you should have spinned the piston to the left and screw it back into the calipers.
then you must align the grove in the piston to the tab on the back of the brake pad.
that will assure proper alignment and lock the pad into place..
double chack to see if they are installed properly
good luck

QUESTION: Ok so I looked at the calipers and the pistons don't screw in. I compressed them with a c clamp and the pads just snap into place. I'm not sure I quit understand what you mean. From what I read on your answer I think you were saying that the piston screws into the caliper. I took to breaks apart and reassembled them twice, yet I still hear the rubbing. Anyy more ideas?

Answer
the ony other idea..

If the pistons dont scre in..
The parking brake shoes may be inside under the rotor..???
Im only going by memorie.
If so..Look to see if a hold down spring or clip fell off..

also look to see if the dust shield is rubbing the rotor or if the wheel bearing is loose..

hope you find the problem..
