Question My oil guage keeps dropping to zero "ding ding" check guages light comes on then it goes back to normal.Motor is running fine no over heating or knocking.Praying that it might be as easy as an oil change or sensor.Truck has 125,000 miles and a newly rebuilt tranny.Any advise please.
Answer On the older cars I'm used to working on, the general rule of thumb is, change the 'Sending Unit' (or Sensor as you're calling it), and recheck, if the same thing happens, then connect a mechanical Guage, and see what it reads. Hopefully, you have either full Oil pressure, or at least enough to protect the internals of the Engine, but I wouldn't wait too long to find out what's going on there.
