Automotive - Eagle Talon Head Bolt Torque Specs

Expert: Ron Cris - 3/12/2008

Question
I have a 1995 Eagle talon 2.0 DOHC Turbo (TSI). I am having some head and valve work done. I purchased a FelPro Top End Gasket and Seals set. It is labeled aas "No Re-Torque" In the Haynes manual, the torque specs when re-installing the head call for torqueing, lossening, the re-torqueing the bolts....and is a little cryptic. Can you help me, please. Thank You.  TC

Answer
The new gaskets will not need be retorqued AFTER start up...

Maybe during head installation..but not afterwards..
Some heads and bolt combos reccomend tighen and loosten during installation....
but not many..
see if the new gaskets have the same torque tightness specs....

GOOD LUCK..
RC
