Automotive/Shifting Problem

Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I sometimes have trouble shifting from Neutral to 1st gear from idle (at traffic light). It seems like I cannot but the shifter into the 1st gear slot. However, after I release the clutch and put into neutral and then press the clutch again, it is fine.

I'm wondering if it is a transmission problem.

ANSWER: What make of vehicle etc?

Answer
Could be worn shift fork in the box itself.Has the gearbox been serviced at all?A change of oil and that should help.Best way to be sure is go to a transmission shop and have them take a look at it.I dont rebuild or do any tear downs on transmissions.
