Automotive - Brake problem w/ my 1994 Chevy Z71

Expert: Ron Cris - 4/25/2008

Question
My parking brake light is on all of the time now and when I drive then apply the brakes it feels as though the rear brakes are not working and a noise comes from the rear end.  I checked the brake fluid reservoir and found that the front half of the reservoir was dry but the rear portion was full of fluid.  I filled it up and checked later with it only showing half full.  Any ideas as to what is the problem and is it safe to drive somewhere for repairs?

Answer
Sounds to me like your rear brakes need a looking at.
May as well check all 4 wheels..
They may be worn out or leaking fluid..
do it ASAP..

Good luck.
