Automotive - air conditioning compressor wont stay on

Question
i have a 1998 cadillac eldorado,4.6L, automatic i get a message in the drivers info center that says; low freon level/ac off. i have replaced the high and low cycle switches, charged the system reset the codes (B1347),replaced the Compressor Relay checked all the fuses
do you have any ideas why is still won't stay on. once i clear the codes it will come on for like 5 seconds and then sets a code and the a/c goes back off and the message reappears. the a/c system worked when i bought the car about 4 months ago, then i notice freon (smoke/gas)coming from one of the connectors.i tighten the connector which was "hand loose" and that seemed to fix the leak, but soon after the message appeared in the message center and hasn't gone away yet. i subscribed to mitchell on demand and it talks about the problem, but doesn't tell how to correct it,
hope you have some ideas i haven't thought about yet, summer is just around the corner.
thanks, john

Answer
Double check your freon pressres
your low side pressue must not drop lower than 25psi while revving the engine A/C on HI at 2000rpm.

if it goes lower than 25psi..it will shut down..
Hopefully thats all it is..

Also check to be sure your fan is on cooling the condensor..

good luck.
