Automotive - u joint vibration

Expert: Ron Cris - 4/11/2008

Question
I own a 99 chevy Z71, I installed 2 new u joints in the rear driveshaft and only indexed the rear of the shaft and the pinion yoke. Now starting at 55mph I have a vibration. Could the spline be a tooth or two off? More importantly, how can I fix this?

Answer
i doubt thats the problem.
make sure the u joints are centered and the clips are still in place...

rotate and watch if it spins true and straight
also see if the wieght is still welded to the driveline..

those are what i would check first.
