Automotive/2000 Eclipse GT vacuum noise

Question
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.  3.0 V6.  Recently a vacuum ticking noise started coming out of one of my vacuum hoses above a vacuum switch...when i pinch the hose the noise goes away which seemed weird to me.  The problem is that since this noise started, the car idols extremely low and is on the verge of stalling.  Any ideas?

Also it has a lifter noise that i have been told i could run a detergent through such as "Marvel Mystery Oil" to clean them out.  Others have told me that it sounds like a fuel injector click.  The noise goes away after 2 minutes of idling.  Is there any way to pinpoint what it is or any other suggestions?

Thanks

Answer
If the lifter is worn it will need replaced. As for the vacuum click, the switch is probably a bsv,bi metal vacuum switch controlled by temp so it may need replaced also. This switch will affect the idle so try removing the vacuum hose and plug it to see if the idle increases.Injector click is normal, unless it is louder than the other injectors. They should all make the same noise.
