Automotive - Milky coolant, oil leak, and vibrating during braking

Expert: Ron Cris - 5/17/2008

Question
Hi,

I own a 1995 Mercury Cougar with a V8 engine, and have 3 current problems.

1. I had an oil leak for a few years, but was told that nothing could be done about it.  Recently it has gotten much worse.  I can see a trail of oil drops where my car has driven.

2. My coolant level has dropped, and when I looked at it, I noticed it was a brownish milky color.  It seemed to also have some sort of whitish solid floating in it for a while, but recently it looked viscous and had a few bubbles in it.

3. When I brake, my car vibrates.  I feel the vibration in the steering wheel, but also in the brake pedal.

And if possible, could you please give me an idea of about how much these problems should cost to fix separately?  Thank you very much.

Answer
your brakes vibrate because your rotors are warped
you need to do a brake job anfd either replace or resurface the rotors.it will brak smoothly after that.

milky oil ? coolant is usally caused by head gasket or intake manifold gasket leaking coolant into your oil..and vise versa..

good luck..
RC
