Automotive - truck burning oil

Expert: Ron Cris - 8/17/2008

Question
my truck justr recently startred smoaking alot and blowing BLACK oil out the tail pipe and the oil gauge reads thaat it is low even though i put 4 qurts in it on top of last weeks oil change? what could be wrong

Answer
The oil gauge measure oil pressure..not oil level
check your dipstick again..if its too full it will smaoke and could damage your engine if you continue to drive it like that....

BLACK smoke usally means you are wasting fuel...not oil...
that would mean flooding carburator or stuck fuel injector..
Good luck..
