Automotive - 1987 chevrolet caprice

Expert: Ron Cris - 9/29/2008

Question
Hello - my Chevrolet Caprice 1987 has 105,000 miles on it.  lately, on occasion, when I start the car it shakes, however, after driving it a short distance the shaking subsides.  I use the highest octane gasoline because if I use regular the car does not run well and the engine does not shut down when I turn it off - it still runs for awhile.  I can feel the shaking in the steering wheel.  If you can advise me, I would appreciate it.

Answer
your choke may need ajustment..may be closed afer warm up..also if the idle is too fast t will be hard to shut off..
