Question
Hi Sean,
My son has locked up the engine on his Toyota Avensis ( the Australian 4 cyl. equivelant of the US Sienna)
It looks to me, that the only way to remove the engine is extract the complete engine, tranmission, and supension assembly from underneath the vehicle, am I on the right track?

Many thanks,

Ken

Answer
Yes,as with many Toyota cars new and some old ones such as the Camry, the engine/gearbox will have to be removed from under the vehicle as it is impossible to remove it from the top.The unit sits on the subframe and you will need a hoist to raise the car then lower the subframe complete with engine unit. Its a lot easier than it looks.
