Question
k so I have two 97 subaru outbacks. one white and one blue. I drove the white one and the engine blew in it(other than that, car operated excellent). somshortly after that, I found the blue one with a problem that there was no power to anything. No fuel,no lights, no radio, nothing worked except the hazard lights and the door blinker. several mechanics looked at the blue car and couldnt figure out the problem. They figured it was a ignition problem or computer.... So i figured, take the engine out of the blue subaru (engine only), and put it into the white subarus shell. After changing the engine into the white subies shell still the same problem. what is it on the engine that would cause this?. as far as im concerned the white subarus shell should have nothing wrong with. and i figure it must be an engine problem. please help thanks.

Answer
Does the engine even turn over in the second car?Im thinking this is in the wiring in the white car.Not the engine at all.Possible anti theft problem or ignition switch.Use a meter and see where you have power to the switch or not.Check all fuses especially pcm and ignition, the heavy 40 amp fuses.
