Question
I have an 92 automatic Ford explorer that won't start. It appears that the gas has been taken out of the tank. We have checked the fuel pump..it's working properly. We have add more gas and still nothing. It does turn over however but does not start. We also checked all the fuses. What do you think it could be??

Answer
The two things you need to check are fuel pressure and ignition spark. The fuel pressure must be tested with a proper gauge as even though the pump is working it may not produce enough pressure to run the motor. The spark is easy to check if you remove one plug and crank the engine with the plug inserted in the disconnected wire.Crank the motor and watch to see if you get a blue spark from the plug tip.Find out which is not working and we can go from there.
