Automotive - Convertible Top Removal

Expert: Sean Halliday - 10/12/2009

Question
Can you tell me how to remove the entire convertible top in one piece on a 1985 Toyota Celica GTS Convertible? I found a new one at a scrap yard. Also, is there anything I should specify to be included in the whole replacement top I would be buying from the scrap yard?

Answer
Make sure you get all the wiring for the hydraulic unit which goes in the trunk.Get the unit also if your old one is slow.Get the motor, and any hardware related to the roof.If the yard has taken off the old one, look closely at it and you will see what goes where. You will need to remove the back seat and side covers, also the inner trunk covers but you will see its pretty easy.
