Question
Hello there.
I own a 93 pontiac grand prix 3.1 V6 Automatic.
I took the car for a 40 km drive today and i noticed than when i stoped a a traffic light the damn engine idles between 1000 and 500 rpm and eventualy dies.
It would start fine but when it shifts into any gear the rpm falls againg and i have to press the accelerator pedal to keep it running.Kinda difficult with automatic transmission.
Any suggestion would be great!
Thank you!
Kind regards
The problem occured after 20 minutes of driving

Answer
EGR failure is one option.A blocked egr or plugs, more options are, wires, ignition, fuel flow, air leak at the vacuum system.Maf sensor.Fuel filter blocked. You will need to go over all relevant procedures to test each component.A haynes or chiltons will be needed.
