Question One day I was driving then my car just shutdown on me. Try to start it but it won't start. I check the spark from the wires. Only one wire was giving out spark. I check the Ignition control module at autozone it was good. Then I found out when I crank the engine the ignition rotor inside the distributor cap does not spin. So I'm wondering if its a defective distributor or something else?
Answer If the Rotor isn't turning, it could mean a broken Distributor Drive Gear, a broken Timimg Chain, or a broken Distributor Shaft. None of these are simple repairs, and a Mechanic would need to have the vehicle in front of him, in order to find out which of the aforementioned is the cause of what you are observing.
