Question

my shifter
hey Sean i have a  01 Celica GTS and I am having problems getting the car to shift in to (R 1st and 2nd). Whenever I try to shift into R or 1st from inside the car using the shifter, it goes into 3. I opened up the hood and we can shift it manually from there so I know its not a problem with the transmision, I dont know if I need to replace the whole shifter system or is it just something else. This happend all of a sudden when i was driving over train tracks. I wasnt sure if something got lose. I am attacting a picture of what i think I may need to replace but again I am not sure... help please!!!

This part looks ok but you will see you have nylon bushings in the shifter,as you look under the hood there will be more bushings so check all of them.The linkage is all connected together and if one part breaks it will cause the transmission to shift abnormally.Check all lock pins are in place also.
