Automotive/Transmission

Question
I own a 2000 model 2.2l (4 cyl) toyota camry. The transmission refuses to select when i took it out in the morning after packing it overnight. There was no problem whatsoever when it was driven a night before. Mechanics suspected a fault on the transmission and the whole transmission was replaced with a fairly used one but the problem persisted. The ECM of the car was also replaced with another one without changes. Please what could be the problem with the car or transmission? Where is the transmission control module located on the car? How can this problem be resolved? I do not want mechanic to continue doing trial-by-error on the car. I have decided to leave the car until I get a response from you.
Thank you so much for your expert advice.

Answer
Why did they change the ecm?The transmission has a seperate computer for the transmission maybe this is what they changed as the ecm is for the engine? The transmission module is under the dash, passenger side.Possibly this is faulty but i cannot think of why the transmission will not select unless a selector /neutral switch is faulty.
