Expert: Skip Bollinger - 3/3/2009

I just bought a toyota previa le/sc today. upon test drive it drove great, tranny shifted properly and engine had normal power however on the way home after stopping for a stop sign I took off with maybe 50% throttle and up to about 80% at mid way between 2nd and 3rd gears the engine hesitated twice then i heard a loud clicking coming from the center and right underside. The engine also lacked the power it had and an accessory belt squeeled momentarily but stopped. I found a hose that had split from the egr vacuum modulator and replaced it but i still have the same problem. the tranny still shifts good all thru the range but under load and the more i give throttle the worse it gets ( low power) any ideas? thanks in advance.

  I will tell you right now, I'm NOT qualified to answer this question but will offer some thoughts for you to ponder. Why don't you just take it back to the dealership and have them fix it?
  Other than that, I have NO idea. In my Profile, I state I'm a Parts Professional, not a Tech.
  Your van has so many different problems, it may be difficult for a Tech!!
  I know this is not the answer you wanted to hear from me but this is the best I can offer. Please don't hammer my chops for not giving you an answer to your problem. As I said, in my Profile, I'm a Parts Specialist, NOT a Tech... Good luck!!
