QUESTION: hey,I have a 1996 pontiac sunfire and oil go in my air filter  when i drive my car and turn it on and when i push the gas like getting up to 45 mph my car start smoking and could you please tell me what is wrong with it and could you tell me where the pvc system located thanks

ANSWER: Whats the mileage on this car?Sounds like too much crank pressure caused by worn rings/bore.High mileage engines will do this and it may mean your engine needs rebuilt.

QUESTION: 128,184 thats how much mileage i have on there do you think i should just replace my pistol rings on there and give it an try do you think that would help

It would be more economical to get a used motor or another car.Rebuilding the engine with the rings costs between 2000 to 2500$ average.You cannot replace the piston rings alone.You will need to rebore the cylinders,replace all the bearings,pistons, and con rods and many other parts as well.Plus,you need to remove the engine to do all this.
