Question
i have a 91 240sx automatic,so here is my problem,my car keep on overheating after 15 minutes and water are coming out of the reservoir due to heat..i have changed my water pump, radiator cap,and coolant reservoir and it still overheating...there is no thermostat cause i bought the way it is but someone told me its ok if i dont have it,its not gonna cause any problems...is that true???and also a mechanic told me that i need to replace my timing chain, and other told me i need to overhaul it...so im confuse on what to do next with my car..plz i need help with this...THANK YOU

Answer
It depends on how many miles are on the engine and what condition it is in before you overhaul the engine.Timing chains usually never need replaced unless you do overhaul the engine. The overheating problem could be a head gasket problem and you need to do a leak down test. This is best left to a shop as it requires a compressed air and special equipment test.
