How do you remove the steering wheel off of a 2000 VW Jetta. It is a 5 speed and I need to replace the ignition cylinder(electrical part).
You do know the airbag will need to be removed and if you are not familiar with this procedure i would not recommend removing it.Only qualified technicians should work on airbags,so its best left to a shop.Airbags are extremely dangerous and handled incorrectly can deploy.The steering wheel removal on this car is very difficult as the airbag spool must be replaced exactly in the correct position or it will fail.
