Question
have you ever in 40 years .Heard of a new starter taking the flywheel ,off at the center 1992 explorer within two starts in front of the auto sales men thank you clt

Answer
In short,no.This must be one powerful starter to do this as the flywheel on this car is bolted on with heavy duty grade 8 steel bolts.Possibly the bolts  were not tightened up to torque specs? If the bolts were loose they will be torn off as the flywheel is quite heavy.
