Question
I bought a 1990 lexus ls400 with only 85000 miles on it but was told that i would need a timing chain belt change soon., I was just wondering at what mileage should i change it. I also have no illumination on my instrument panel and how do i go about having that fixed and can i do it myself? mahalo from hawaii

Answer
Generally 'Timing Belts' should be changed every 30,000 miles. The Instrument Panel Light problem may just be a blown Fuse. Your vehicle 'Owner's Manual' should tell you where the Fuse Panel is, and once you locate the Fuse for the Instrument Panel Lights, you can remove the blown Fuse, go to any Auto Parts Store, match up the correct style and Amperage rating replacement, and put it in. As long as there aren't any other problems, the Lights should work again. You may have to buy a package of the type of Fuse you need, but generally, the packages of Fuses aren't that expensive ($2.00-$4.00).
