Question hi - i am attempting to change the fuel filter on my 94 32i bmx - i need to know where i can find and change out the old one , and are there any special tools needed to complete the job - thanks steve
Answer This filter is under the car towards the rear of the drivers seat.Release the fuel pressure before you attempt to remove it.On this year ,there are no special tools required.2 simple clamps were used but the filter is different on later models requiring a special tool to disconnect the lines.1994/95 is the easier clamps. To release the fuel pressure look at the engine and the fuel rail to find the schrader valve .Unscrew the small cap and push in the valve. The pressure will release some small amount of fuel so be careful and make sure the engine is cold.Other method to release pressure is remove the fuel pump relay and turn over the engine several times.Be prepared to catch some fuel under the car about a quart or so and best to have a fire ex standing by just in case.Gasoline is dangerous so be careful.
