oil leak it has the 5.0L V-8 olds engine how can i find out
if it has the oil seal or the rope type without pulling the trans. and or oil pan first if is the rope type I can do
but if is the other I will have to take it in to repair
being on a tight budget I hope for the rope type
thank for helping

ANSWER: It has the rope type seal and my manual tells me its possible to replace by removing the oil pan and oil pump only.Check your vin number to see if it is the rope type, then look on google, but 99% of these cars were the rope seal.

QUESTION: Sean,do I put the vin number on the search line?

Answer
No,go to one of the online parts stores and they will give you the options as there are many vin numbers for this model. If you look at them you will see the correct vin letter and go from there. The vin will ask for a letter, usually the 8th or 10th digit,it will be a letter,,,,,,,A,H,K,L,M,etc..if youre not sure send me your vin and i will find the correct part.
