Question
I am replacing a leaking condenser on a 2002 Saturn L100. I am taking out the old refrigerant, replacing the condenser, evacuating the system and then recharging it with new refrigerant. Do I have to add any oil to the system? If so, how much do I add? Should I also replace the drier? Thanks for your help.

Answer
Yes you will need to add the correct amount of oil if the system is empty.Check with your nearest a/c shop as there are so many different variations for adding oil.It is best to flush the system, replace the filter and drier as well. The r134a or r12 will have oil as well as gas but its best to add some extra for good circulation. Most cars will take 2/4 ounces.
