Automotive/mitsubishi diamante engine noise

Question
Hi I have a 93 diamante and it makes a noise like a stuck lifter would make. What can I do and how easy would it be to take out the lifters and clean them?

Answer
Camshaft clack is caused by worn cam lobes or a collapsed lifter/s.It is not a matter of cleaning the lifter if it is hydraulic, the lifter will need replaced.Inspect the camshaft also for wear and if you have the manual, look at the the instructions for replacement. This is a reasonably difficult job.
