Question
for the last several months my 1999 honda civic has been dying while I am driving down the road requiring me to pull over and restart it or put it in neutral and restart it.  At first it seemed like it was happening related to heat outside but has become more frequent and temp seems less relevant now.  Sometimes when I get it into neutral to restart the car will grind like it isn't really dead even though the air conditioner has stopped running and you have no power steering etc...  Now the latest new symptom is the SRS light just came on yesterday and is now staying on Any help?

Answer
Have you had anyone look at this?It doesnt really tell me what the problem is because i need to know if the engine cuts out or simply drops rpms which would mean a bad idle due to the a/c being on.If this is the case its possibly a bad iac solenoid.Loss of drive could be also due to a bad fuel pump or electrical failure but you will need to know which system has a problem. The srs light has nothing to do with the engine. So,have the fuel pressure tested and also the ignition components then go from there. There are too many things on this car to guess which one it is.Did the check engine light come on?
