Question
Just got an '86 c/10 pickup (free), replaced the battery, fired right up. Two days later, will turn over but no spark. Replaced plugs, wires and rotor, fired up, drove it, a few days later, same problem. replaced coil and ignition control module, still no joy. Bypassed ignition switch with direct connection from coil to battery, nada. Cap contacts are clean, Fuses good. Power going to coil. No shorts that I can detect. Short of replacing the entire distributor, I'm out of ideas. Please help!

Answer
I would also check the Fuel Pump, and Fuel Filter. A Haynes or Chiltons Manual for your Make, Year, and Model of Truck, would show you where the Fuel Filter is located on your vehicle. Most Auto Parts Stores like Pep Boys, AutoZone, and Advance Auto Parts, to name a few, carry these Manuals.
