Automotive/steering problem

Question
hi i have a 98 vw golf advatagarde convertible with power steering and when i am turning the steering wheel it feels like i have to pull it round to the right but i don't have the problem when turning left i have checked the fluid level on the power steering and thats fine  and also when i push the clutch pedal in it is quite stiff i would be grateful for any help you might be able to give............. thank you

Answer
Unless your Car's Clutch and Power Steering share the same Drive Pulley for the Hydraulic boost, it sounds like two separate problems. Difficulty in steering in one direction (left or right), would indicate a problem in the Steering Rack itself, usually a Pump failure affects left and right steeering.

The Clutch problem would be due to a hydraulic Slave Cylinder having gone bad.
