Question
Hello I have a 1993 jeep grand cherokee and I need to replace the rear window I have removed the the old seal and adhesive from the car. I,ve located a new one in a wrecking yard but they won't remove it for me . My question is do you need special tools to remove the window without damaging the seal? Also how can you get the hatch open if operating the lock wont release it .really need some advise thanks.

Answer
Most modern car windows are bonded. This means they are held with a special adhesive and can only be removed with special tools. The new window needs to be installed by a window specialist.Cost approx,$150-$200.There are many mobile window experts and its a lot less trouble. The lock is a problem and the only way is remove the cover to manually release the lock. You may need to put a hole in the plastic.
