Question I have a 1997 chrysler concorde and i have been having problems with it surging while driving and then dying and not starting again for a while. But recently i was driving down the freeway and the car shook a bunch and i had to get on the throttle almost all the way to run the car 30-35 mph when i got off the freeway it died completlely overheated and now i cannot get it to start at all. Can you help me please
Answer Possible causes are,MAF sensor, fuel filter/pump.It is odd that it overheated, this is not normal unless you have another major problem such as a blown head gasket or fault in the cooling system.Either way this engine will need to be looked at by a shop. The fact that you say it died and then overheated doesnt make sense. It would have overheated and then died perhaps?Poor running can be a factor with coolant in the cylinders.Hence a blown gasket which is not uncommon on this model.
general auto repair, japanese, bmw, mercedes, mini cooper 1960/2009,general british cars, ford.I DO NOT work on automatic transmissions.Manual transissions i install clutches only. Many people ask me to diagnose noises from their cars, unfortunately i cannot do this unless i hear it.As you appreciate, vehicles can and will make a variety of noises.I DONT UPGRADE or fit aftermarket performace kits, parts, chips, only replacement parts.
