Question
how do you replace the keyed ignition switch on a 1993 chevy silverado.  The switch is locking up and it won't turn at all.  At first I couldn't get the truck to shut off without disconnecting the battery and now it won't turn either way.

Answer
The lock/barrel will need to be turned to release the cylinder otherwise it may involve pulling the steering wheel. The new barrel/key will come with instructions on this procedure and is pretty simple but it usually involves pushing a small pin at the side of the barrel. This truck i am not so familiar with and have never changed the key/barrel.If you get a new lock, let me know if you have problems fitting it and i can do more research on it.
