Question
Today my '02 Sonoma ran hot.  I pulled the hood release & nothing happened.  Am assuming the cable is broken.  Have tried vice grips on the cable, but still can't open hood.  How can I get the hood open?  Thanks.

If the cable is broken,it is very difficult to open the hood.The only way is to  release the lock at the front under the hood.Using a long screwdriver and flashlight, try to see the lock in the center of the hood.If you cannot see it or reach it,im afraid its a trip to a shop.Some cars need to have the grille removed for access.
