Question
I have different brands of tires (Front vs. Rear) about the same tread depth. Can I engage 4 wheel drive for short periods of time w/0 real damage? (short would be 1 snowy day/month.

Answer
Not being a tire expert, best I could say, is your biggest headache, could be a difference in gripping ability, which would possibly make it harder to gain traction at one end or the other, but your best bet, is to consult with a local Tire Store for a more accurate answer.
